APABA, a 501(c)(6) organization, is the oldest and largest association of Asian Pacific American attorneys in the Washington, DC area. Founded in 1981, APABA is an affiliate chapter of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. This blog is the product of efforts by the APABA Executive Board. Networking Skills: Theory and Practice

Why are networking skills important? How do you develop your networking skills? At an event or conference, how do you begin to network and make “connections” with other participants? Outside of an event or conference, how do you begin to network and make “connections”? How can you use your network to help yourself and others? How do you build and maintain your network? Participants will learn useful tips on how to network effectively and maintain the relationships, and will be able to immediately put those tips to use at a networking reception following the panel discussion.
