THE PRACTICING ATTORNEYS RESOURCE COMMITTEE OF THE ASIAN PACIFIC AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION OF THE GREATER WASHINGTON DC AREA

PRESENTS

SPOTLIGHT ON ANGELA OH: PROFESSOR, ADVOCATE, AND RACE-RELATIONS EXPERT

Angela Oh is one of the nation’s leading commentators on race relations. Her ability to speak on these matters is deeply rooted in her personal experiences, which include her roles as an advocate for Korean-Americans during the Los Angeles race riots, as a voice of reconciliation during that time, and as an appointee to the seven-member Advisory Board to President Clinton's Initiative on Race. Ms. Oh also authored Open: One Woman’s Journey, a compilation of essays and narratives on her experiences, which she wrote in commemoration of the 10-year anniversary of the Los Angeles riots.

Don’t miss this opportunity to gain insight into Ms. Oh’s unique career path and her human experiences as an Asian-American woman, attorney, and activist, who has lived through pivotal moments in this nation’s race-relations history. The discussion will be interactive and conducted in an interview style with questions from the audience.

Ms. Oh’s book Open: One Woman’s Journey will also be available for purchase and there will be a book signing session. Cash or check will be accepted.
