The Women's Forum of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of the Greater Washington, DC Area invites you to join our APA Film & Dinner Social Event!

We will view a selection of unconventional stories by Korean American women filmmakers. The viewing will be followed by dinner and a discussion of the short films at a nearby Thai restaurant.

The short films include:

  • We Got Moves You Haven't Even Heard Of (Erica Cho, 1999, 11 min.);
  • Pilots Are Badass (Cheryl Park, 2002, 10 min.), an amusing and earnest examination of a young pilot's quest for manhood;
  • Oma Rhee (Rosylyn Rhee, 2000, 20 min.), a film that looks back on a childhood full of difficult expectations; and
  • Looking For Wendy (Kimberly Sa Ree Tomes, 1997, 18 min.) and Subrosa (Helen Lee, 2000, 22 min.), which address the North American adoption of girls from Korea.

These films are presented in partnership with the D.C. Asian Pacific American Film Festival and Adoption Service Information Agency. For more information, click on link, http://www.nmwa.org/calendar/detail.asp?eventId=611.
